The desert is not a packing emergency. It is a place with temperature swings, sand, and very little shade. Dress for that, and you will be fine.

Bring a light scarf for the wind, a warm layer for the small hours, and a pair of shoes you do not mind ruining. Leave the drone, the tripod and the second suitcase behind.

The short list

Linen shirt, long trousers, a fleece, a scarf, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm, a headtorch, and a refillable water bottle. A film camera, if you have one. A book you have already read.

That is it. The desert will provide the rest: the scale, the silence, and the sunset.
